From Classroom to Craftsmanship: How Our Masterclass Students Transformed a Dining Room with Gold Leaf.
For over three decades, we have had the privilege of working with esteemed designer Iain Halliday from BKH. Our relationship with him has been marked by a shared passion for design and an unyielding commitment to craftsmanship, leading to some truly remarkable creations. In this post, we share one of the most exquisite designs we have been commissioned to undertake.
Our talented team, Krissie and Steve, both Masterclass Students, were entrusted with this prestigious project. They were tasked with applying faux gold leaf over a sprawling 30-square-meter ceiling. The result was nothing short of breathtaking – a shimmering canvas of gilded hues that transformed the room into a regal haven.
But the beauty didn’t stop there. Beneath the cornice lay a green-painted freeze, stretching across 22 linear meters. Over this vibrant background, a gold-leafed design was meticulously applied using a stencil. This intricate pattern wound its way around the room, adding an extra layer of sophistication and elegance.
This project was more than just another commission for us. It was a testament to our team’s skill, dedication, and artistic vision. We are incredibly proud of Krissie and Steve, who have once again proven their exceptional talent. Their work is a shining example of some of the jobs that can come from doing a Masterclass course through Art Gilding.
