Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Sydney

The church discovered a hidden treasure when paint was stripped off to reveal the 10 commandments, The Greed and The Lord’s Prayer painted and gilded on glass.

Art Gilding was instructed to gold leaf all columns framing the historic artworks.

We also gilded all surrounding flat areas with faux gold leaf and applied a burgundy red paint to cover the gold. Then we rubbed back 50 % off the paint to let 50% of the gold shine through.

That was a very interesting finish to achieve the rustic aged look the client requested.
